LOVE.LIVE.RAVE Watford Review
After parking my car in the multi-storey Watford Car park, I walked a stones throw away and I was stood outside the infamous Area Club, in the Watford city centre.
The music the DJs were already spewing out countless hits in the venue, which oozed through speakers on to the streets. Keeping the bouncers and the eagerly awaiting queue of Love Live Ravers entertained and anticipating a heavy night.
By 11pm streams of 20 something year olds spilled through the doors into the spacious and beautifully decorated venue, in every way representing a 10:1 ratio of women to men. I started to play spot the Love Live Rave t-shirt, but soon gave up as floods of love live ravers bopped in showing their support in their clothing.
It was official, the weekend of pure entertainment was being born as these ravers put on a display to lay the week to rest and the DJ flung out well known rnb and hiphop tunes from the likes of Lil Weezy, Kanye, Jeezy to name a few.

The dance floor hid behind some drapes so the early ravers surrounded the bar at first whilst they bopped their heads to the familiar baselines. Others filled the b-day VIP booths and started their nights off early with shots and a barrage of face-book-esque photos…you know the type where one of you holds the camera up and snaps everyone including themselves, sticking tongues out and pulling jaw dropping poses.
In no time the drapes were lifted whilst the DJ threw on Nelly’s 'Eagle' and Beyonce’s 'Video Phone', which might I add sounds amazing in a club…the crowd complied automatically and made their way down to the dance area.
Sooner rather than later, the DJs flipped the script and the sounds of sexy funky house soon flooded the venue…Crazy Cousin beats got everyone including myself excited about just being there and sharing the weekend with others that love to live and love to rave and of course the sounds of Doneo were more than welcome to the ear drum….
As the ratio of women to men became more equal towards the middle of the night, the DJs announced promises of impressive PAs to bless the stage, as if it wasn’t enough to be jamming to the DJ skills of Versatile and Kiss FM’s Pioneer.
Princess soon made an appearance on stage and performed her club gripping single ‘Frontline’ to the bubbly crowd, and Hoodzee Rider followed suit with his air-played single ‘Rider’.
